The UC Davis Human Performance
Laboratory is used for both teaching and research. It contains equipment
and facilities appropriate for studying both biomechanical and physiological
aspects of human movement. The equipment used for biomechanical studies
includes three Kistler Force Plates, four high speed videography cameras,
a three dimensional Motion Analysis System, sixteen channels of electromyography,
a treadmill, Cybex and Lido joint testing ergometers, and a rowing ergometer.
Computers available include Unix, Windows, and Mac based operating systems.
The exercise physiology testing facilities contain two cardio-respirator
units, a Medtronics 2900 metabolic cart, a treadmill, several cycling
ergometers, and a "bod-pod" for body composition determination.
A limited amount of animal testing is also conducted in this laboratory.
The animal testing equipment includes two Cambridge Technology Ergometers
(Model 305B and Model 310B), several power supplies, a custom built 16
channel signal processing and interface panel, and a Wavetek arbitrary
function generator for nerve stimulation.
